Orthodontics five finishing effects
Orthodontics five finishing effects
Orthodontic side effects are also used in orthodontic treatment. However, it turns out that the side effects of orthodontic treatment are almost very slight during the course of orthodontic treatment, unless you encounter an unreliable orthodontist.
1. The impact on the dental pulp; in the early stage of orthodontic treatment, a mild temporary inflammatory reaction occurs in the dental pulp, which is manifested by the patient feeling pain or discomfort in the first few days after the force is applied. However, this mild pulpitis is not enough to cause permanent water damage to the pulp and does not affect the vitality of the pulp.
2. The influence on the tooth root: During the process of tooth movement, the reconstruction activities of absorption and hyperplasia also occur on the surface of the tooth root. After orthodontic treatment stops, the tooth root returns to normal by its own repair ability. A small loss of root structure does not affect the function of the tooth.
3. The impact on the height of the alveolar ridge: For patients who wear the same appliance, oral hygiene is not easy to clean, which increases the chance of gingivitis, and gingival inflammation will have a certain impact on the height of the alveolar ridge. After the completion of orthodontic treatment, the alveolar ridge will gradually return to normal if the oral hygiene is good. Alveolar ridges with orthodontics have a lower height.
4. Increased looseness of teeth: During orthodontic treatment, the looseness of teeth increases slightly, which is a normal reaction. Because the teeth need to move, not only the alveolar bone needs to be rebuilt; moreover, the periodontal ligament itself needs to be rebuilt. After the tooth stops moving, the tooth can repair itself and return to normal tooth mobility without permanent damage to the tooth.
5. Pain: Because the nerves in the periodontal ligament are very sensitive to external pressure, it often causes pain or discomfort to patients when orthodontics is applied. The afterburn will last for 2 to 3 days at the beginning, and then it will gradually decrease until it disappears. Parents don't need to worry too much.
