If you want your child's teeth to be straight, eating more whole grains is the key

Children begin to change teeth from the age of 6, and the teeth change will continue until 12-13 years old. During this period, the teeth are not aligned due to physiological or pathological reasons. Song Ye, a dentist at the Shenyang Women's and Children's Health Center, said that dental care during this period is crucial to whether children can successfully pass through the tooth replacement period. In addition, if you want your child to have straight teeth, eating more whole grains is the key.

儿童矫正

"Six-year-old teeth" are the permanent teeth with the highest rate of caries.

"Six-age teeth" are the permanent teeth that grow out around the age of six. They do not replace any deciduous teeth. They erupt on the gums behind the last deciduous tooth, one on the upper, lower, left, and right sides. Because the "sixth-year-old teeth" erupted relatively early, they are often ignored by parents as deciduous teeth, so they are also the permanent teeth with the highest caries rate. Parents should pay close attention to the eruption of the sixth-age teeth, do a good job of cleaning, and seal the pits and fissures in time.

Parents usually have this kind of distress: the child's new teeth have grown, and the old teeth have not fallen out, showing the phenomenon of "double rows of teeth". At this time, if the child's permanent teeth have erupted a lot and the deciduous teeth have not fallen out, the deciduous teeth should be extracted as soon as possible, which will help the permanent teeth move to the normal position and align the teeth.

Let the child eat some chewy food appropriately.

Newly replaced permanent teeth are yellower in color than deciduous teeth, and have "serrations" at the incisal end. This is a normal developmental nodule of the tooth, which will be gradually smoothed by chewing food. Parents do not need to worry about it, and there is no need to deal with it; It is also a normal phenomenon to have a "horoscope" shape when erupting, especially the upper front teeth are more prone to this situation. With the eruption of the canine teeth on both sides, the incisors will gradually become straight, the gap between the teeth will narrow, and gradually return to the normal position. Therefore, there is no need for correction at this time.

Nowadays, the food that children eat is generally too fine, resulting in poor development of the jaw, and there is not enough space to arrange the teeth, resulting in crowded dentition. Parents should properly let their children eat some coarse grains and chewy foods, such as celery, peanuts, apples, sugar cane, etc. If all the deciduous teeth have been replaced and the teeth are still not aligned, it is recommended to consult a doctor for orthodontics as soon as possible.
